When I first started visualizing the ideas of the early settlers arriving in NZ, the shipwrecks etc and the impact all of this furniture must have made on the locals, I saw all their belongings washed up on the beach. This little pastel was one of the first of the immigrant series.

The English settlers loved their Royal Dalton tea pots etc, and we still have all the crockery I have used on the paintings.
