This was painted at the same time as the Tui. The portrait of a kiwi mother and her chicks. A particularly large 70 cm print, you feel as though you could walk right into the nest. Much loved by children also.
To Māori, the kiwi is very special. It is known as Tane – the hidden bird of the god of the forest. It is a taonga (treasure) of the Maori people and has many cultural, spiritual and historic associations.
